Friday evening, 1st of February, 2007: We’re about to rearrange my sleeping room, so that it’s easier for me to Wii. But in the midst of the process, my mother and I start arguing, the way mothers and teenagers tend to.

Every Friday evening, we (”we” being Vincentt, the brother inbetween Vincentt and me and my little sister) visit my dad, and every second week, we stay there for the weekend.
The same was supposed to happen that evening, but I – angry as I was – didn’t feel like doing so at all. Don’t ask me why – I was probably being stubborn.

So, my father said he’d pick me up later that evening. But I was being obstinate, and simply went to bed.
Or at least I tried. Turned out, we took my bed apart, as to rearrange my room more easily.
First, I tried making sort of an alternative with a linen on the ground, but it didn’t sleep very well.

Then, I went upstairs, to the attic, where I found my mom’s bed. It’s a double bed, and she’s on her own. So I thought I’d sleep there. I fell asleep, to awake again in the night…

… with a flashlight in my face, Vincentt and brother 2 swearing. They seemed to have lost me.

From what I’ve heard, my window, which was partially broken, was blown open by the heavy wind we had that night – something that’s not supposed to happen, but it was broken after all. My mother entered my bedroom that evening; I was gone, and my window was open. She searched the house, but didn’t find me. She even seems to have been in the room I was sleeping in, but she didn’t see me.

So she called Vincentt and brother 2. Vincentt said he had searched the room I was sleeping – with a flash light. Twice.
But he didn’t find me.

So they called the police, and some of my classmates’ parents.

Then, they found me. Finally. I had slept through it all – my temper seemed to have tired me out.

So, the police and a friend’s parents were sent away, and my father picked me up at last.

I’ve had the best night of sleep I’ve ever had – I slept ’til 1:30 PM.

Oh, and my mother unplugged my computer, so when I return home, there’s a fat chance my Internet access will be extremely limited. Hope to be back soon.

We have currently employed four new staff members. Allow me to introduce them to you.

Fused (World Meeting Point Forums)

Fused is the new moderator at World Meeting Point Forums. He describes himself as “a friendly sorta guy”, with which I agree (though Darkfrost and I still wonder what exactly he sorts). He also is first representative of Australia at the Forums.

Elindor (World Meeting Point Forums)

Elindor arrived at the day of posting, after being offered the position of moderator. He is 14, from India. He has already promised to be active, so you’ll see him around.

Deazy (AdNormality)

After being a member at the Forums for quite some time, Deazy is now becoming the first reviewer to do Promotional Reviews at AdNormality. He has already reviewed the Forums several times (for other forums), and has proved to be a skilled reviewer.

Thundra (AdNormality)

Applying for reviewer right after Deazy, Thundra is new to the World Meeting Point Networks. Thundra him/herself says ” I am a kind person who loves to help people in anyway possible”, so we’re happy to have her in the staff team.

AdNormality is the newest addition to the World Meeting Point Network. AdNormality is an ad forum, different from all others. We strive for original features, to diverse ourselves from the numerous other advertisement forums around.

Until now, we have got 3 features ready (though not yet open):

MultiSig

A signature that multiple MultiSig team members will wear, and that will be auctioned every week. If you win the auction, your signature will be displayed at a lot of forums.

Promotional review

Reviews for members instead of the admin. Points out the reasons why members should join that specific forum, and is then added to the database.

Forum dating

You get matched with another forum (and that forum’s admin get’s matched with your forum), while your interests are very different, so that you get some diversity on your forum, and with that, different topics and perhaps good discussions.

We are currently looking for new ideas for features. Please submit them by commenting to this post.

Well, first of all, a happy new year to every single one of you. Hope everything will go well in 2008.

But when the New Year celebrations finish,  life goes on, and so does WoMePo. We’ve got two updates for you, today.

Fused promoted to moderator

Fused is the new moderator at World Meeting Point Forums. He is moderator of the  WoMePo Special Features and the Discussion categories, and the WMPs Swap Meet and the Contests forum.

Darkfrost promoted to Global Moderator

Darkfrost, the longest serving moderator (not counting the short break), has finally been promoted to Global Moderator. He is now partially in charge of all forums.

After about four months of work, laurensschu agreed upon demotion, and is now an Elite Member. The World Meeting Point Staff thanks him for everything he has done for the forum, and hope he has had a great time.

Darkfrost repromoted

Darkfrost has been repromoted to moderator, replacing temporary moderator Olive Oil.

Olive Oil has been demoted, and is now an Elite Member

Mass Activity Weekend #2

Main site offline

Due to unknown reason, the main site has been taken offline. This is being solved.

Today, I have purchased www.WoMePo.net, so you can easily access all sites in the Networks. The WMPs contest should start somewhere soon, though I can’t confirm anything about it, yet.

.net domain postponed

Due to problems with registering the .net domain for the World Meeting Point Network, the .net domain will be bought as soon as possible, but not this week. With this, the WMPs contest is also postponed

WMPs contest postponed

The WMPs contest announced in Inside Internationality, is postponed because with the contest, a massive promotion campaign is planned to be held, and for that, the domain is necessary.

Darkfrost demoted

Due to inactivity and personal issues, Darkfrost has been depromoted from the moderator position. He might return as activity increases, but he’s in the list with all others now.

Olive Oil promoted to moderator

To replace Darkfrost, Olive Oil is now the new moderator of the Language HQ with subforums (Language Schools/Language Chats) and Off-Topic with subforums (Forum Games, Spam).

Affiliation with IFMusicians ended

Due to closure of IFMusicians, the affiliation between World Meeting Point Forums and IFMusicians has ended.

Two new skins have been added in the skin selector.

1. Frostee (standard)
2. DuoTec
3. Zeneca Blue

To select one of the two new ones,  go to  My Controls  -> Skins and Languages.

Like we’ve had on the older World Meeting Point, we will have another Mass Activity Weekend,
planned in the weekend of Saturday the 13th and Sunday the 14th of October.
Staff will be there, and post actively, so it’s time for some serious debates and discussions!
It’s a great time to get some reputation for the contest, too.
If you were planning to come back, this is the time to do so. If you were inactive due to something, this is the time to return.
I am also trying to get a lot of new members during the weekend, so give them a warm welcome, and let’s boost the place!
